Boosted Kizuna!

The 86 is now at its pinnacle, saturated with aftermarket parts and even revised OEM parts which for some add to the performance of the 2017 86. However the local 2017 model doesn't come with all the new and revised goodies.

Ever since its launch, most of the reviewers, owners always wish for more power out of the 86. There are "affordable" custom turbo kits depends who does the job and price of the parts u get, turbo kits from well known companies from around the world and one of the most "cheapest" way is to do the infamous 2JZ swap as even the stock internals can handle the more boost and power than the stock FA20.

In the case of my friend here, he went for the Trust/Greddy turbo kit. It retains the balance of the FA20 engine and the original looks of the 86 however it give that extra punch. The T518Z is known for its responsiveness and should compliment the car very nicely.

Here we can see the mechanic taking out the old plastic intake manifold that came with the early FA20 to be replaced with the new 2017 86 revised intake manifold which should have better flow and even better looks just like most STI's.

Once the manifold is off, its all about transferring everything from the old to the new manifold.

The red intake manifold really spiced up the engine bay, the only part that needed to be trimmed was the cover and since there was no lower hose bracket it can easily be tied down under the manifold.

Next in line is replacing the radiator with a thicker core aluminium radiator to for extra cooling efficiency.

Whats a turbokit without its shiny intercooler.
Don't you just love how everything just bolts on
And finally the most exciting moment! The turbo goes into the engine bay!

Apart from the upgraded radiator, theres also the Greddy Radiator neck adapter to which allows the installation of a water temp sensor and to spice things up, some bright red Perrin Performance radiator hose kit
The completed engine bay sure is stunning!
